Intervistato da Alessandro Cattelan spiega l’equivoco dietro quegli scatti che hanno fatto il giro del mondo: “era un pomeriggio dopo che avevo finito le gare e volevo solo stare un po’ per i fatti miei”.

Poi uscivo con i piedi – spiega il nuotatore alto 1,99 metri durante la puntata di “Stasera c’è Cattelan – Supernova” – l’angolo batteva sul polpaccio e quello mi dava un po’ di noia.” E ad Alessandro Cattelan racconta il motivo di quel gesto, per lui mal interpretato dai media di tutto il mondo: “Avevo finito le gare, avevo fatto la staffetta la mattina e poi non siamo rientrati. Io ero proprio imbestialito, prendo e vado via senza dire niente a nessuno, per passare un pomeriggio per i fatti miei. A me piace molto stare da solo” racconta il nuotatore che aggiunge: “C’era questa panchina e mi sono messo lì, arrivano le 4, le 5 del pomeriggio e penso ‘vabbè mi butto perchè sono stanco e voglio un attimo riposarmi’ e poi è arrivato uno a farmi la foto”.
